Sea Salt Edamame

A Japanese restaurant favorite you can make at home in 7 minutes. Edamame (young soybeans) is one of the best plant-based protein sources — 11g protein for just 120 calories.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup frozen edamame (in pods)
  • 1 tsp flaky sea salt
  • Optional: ½ tsp sesame seeds, ½ tsp sesame oil, chili flakes

Instructions

  1. Boil a pot of water. Add frozen edamame.

  2. Cook for 4-5 minutes until bright green and tender.

  3. Drain and pat dry.

  4. Toss with sea salt (and optional sesame seeds, sesame oil, or chili flakes).

  5. Serve warm. Squeeze pods to pop beans into your mouth.
