Ingredients
- 1 cup lean ground beef
- 1 cup cooked lasagna pasta sheets
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1/2 cup marinara sauce

- 1/4 cup onion, finely diced
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp olive oil

- 2 tbsp fresh basil, chopped
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 F and lightly oil a small baking dish.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and saute onion and garlic 3 minutes.
- Add ground beef and cook 5-7 minutes, breaking it up, until browned; drain fat.
- Stir in marinara sauce and Italian seasoning; simmer 5 minutes, then season with salt and pepper.
- Mix ricotta, egg, basil, and a pinch of salt in a bowl until smooth.
- Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in the dish, then layer pasta, ricotta mixture, meat sauce, and mozzarella; repeat, finishing with mozzarella and Parmesan.
- Cover with foil and bake 25 minutes, then remove foil and bake 10 minutes more until golden and bubbly.
- Rest 10 minutes before slicing so the layers set.
