Low Calorie Protein Brownies

Fudgy, rich brownies that pack 12g of protein per serving for just 165 calories. Made with mashed banana instead of oil and almond flour instead of wheat flour, these brownies are gluten-free and naturally sweetened.

Ingredients

  • 1 ripe banana, mashed
  • 1 scoop (30g) chocolate protein powder
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup almond flour
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 15g dark chocolate chips or chopped chocolate
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a small baking pan (6x6 inch) with parchment paper.

  2. Mash banana in a bowl until smooth. Add egg, honey, and vanilla. Whisk to combine.

  3. Add protein powder, cocoa powder, almond flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir until just combined (don’t overmix).

  4. Fold in dark chocolate chips.

  5. Pour batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.

  6. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out mostly clean (a few moist crumbs are fine).

  7. Cool for at least 15 minutes before cutting into 4 squares.
