Instant Pot Steel-Cut Oats

The Instant Pot turns steel-cut oats into a hands-off breakfast with no watching or stirring, finished with juicy berries and a hit of cinnamon. Make a batch on Sunday for easy weekday mornings.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup steel-cut oats
  • 2 cups unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup mixed berries (fresh or frozen)
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 2 tbsp chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. Coat the Instant Pot insert with a light spray of oil to prevent foaming.
  2. Add the steel-cut oats, almond milk, water, and cinnamon and stir to combine.
  3. Lock the lid, set the valve to Sealing, and pressure cook on High for 10 minutes.
  4. Allow a natural pressure release for 10 minutes, then quick-release any remaining steam.
  5. Stir the oats well and fold in the chia seeds and maple syrup.
  6. Spoon into bowls and top each with berries and walnuts.
  7. Add a splash of almond milk to loosen if the oats are too thick.
