Beef and Broccoli with Rice

A healthier version of the Chinese takeout classic with lean beef and controlled sauce.

Ingredients

  • 4 oz lean beef (sirloin), sliced thin
  • 1.5 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 cup cooked brown rice
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce (low sodium)
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 1 tsp cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Marinate beef in 1 tbsp soy sauce and cornstarch for 10 minutes.
  2. Steam broccoli 3 minutes. Set aside.
  3. Heat wok over high heat. Add oil and beef. Stir-fry 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add garlic and ginger. Stir 30 seconds.
  5. Return beef and broccoli. Add remaining sauces.
  6. Serve over brown rice.
